A vow to defund Planned Parenthoood

President Donald Trump pledged to completely eliminate Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer funding if he is reelected to a second term. He also stated he would continue filling the Supreme Court and lower federal courts with pro-life judges.

Trump submitted a letter to American pro-life leaders and activists where he listed his six first-term pro-life accomplishments. These include the Title X Protect Life Rule, instituting pro-life judges into the judiciary, sided with the conscious rights of the Little Sisters of the Poor Supreme Court case and being the first US president to speak at the annual March for Life in Washington, DC and the Susan B. Anthony List Campaign for Life Gala in-person.

“As I seek re-election this November, I need your help in contrasting my bold pro-life leadership with Joe Biden’s abortion extremism,” Trump wrote “The Democratic Party unequivocally supports abortion on demand, up until the moment of birth, and even infanticide.”

He listed his three action steps for his second term, including overthrowing Democratic filibusters in Congress to pass and sign the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act and the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act and fully defunding Planned Parenthood.

Under the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, the federal government cannot allow for funding abortions or health benefits coverage plans that include it. It would be illegal to perform abortions in federal facilities or by any physician, but provides exemptions for abortions related to rape, incest, or preserving the life of the mother.
