For this upcoming election season at ORU, here is everything you need to know about the ideas, proposals and visions of the Student Body President candidates.
The first candidate is Titus Schmitt, who is a junior and currently the head RA of Lower EMR and running with the slogan “Your Vision, My Passion.” Titus has a two-fold campaign, which strives for an emphasis on better student experiences and a radical increase in school spirit through intramurals, hype teams and active campus unity.
The second candidate is Hannah Brennecke, a sophomore government major, championing the slogan “Your Voice Matters.” Her campaign is trifold with the community, whole person and school spirit objectives. Suggestions such as mentor wings on EMR and Claudius, a pass/fail installment for HPE courses and ORU games live-streamed in the Armand Hammer Center are what she plans to implement.
The final candidate is Jonathan Roesler, a sophomore government major with the campaign line, “Help ORU Dream Big.” Roesler is focusing his campaign around freshman, commuters, international student connectivity, school spirit and veteran integration. Facilitated events, student body open houses and friendly floor competitions are just a few of his intentions.
The candidates will state their campaign goals and address questions in a forum on Monday, March 12, at 7 p.m. in Zoppelt auditorium. Voting opens on Tuesday, March 13, through Vision.
