The Homecoming Banquet will take students back in time to the roaring 1920s. The event, slated for Saturday, Feb. 1 from 8 to 11 p.m., rekindles the era of “The Great Gatsby.”
Student Association Chief Programs Officer Christine Anthony said the inspiration for this year’s banquet came from the style and beauty of the 1920s.
“[The style is] so fun and classy, why not have a banquet with this glamorous theme?” Anthony said.
The event will be held in the heart of downtown Tulsa’s central business district. Event-goers will enter First Place Tower and be greeted by a mid-century lobby witih themed décor. The sleek period elevators will whisk attendees to Sky Loft, the building’s 41st floor. The view from Sky Loft allows students to see the Tulsa skyline with a 360-degree view.
“This venue we chose was also built in the ’20s so it just fit perfectly,” Anthony said. “We always try and mix it up and have a different venue each year to make it a little bit of a different experience.”
The banquet will also have food, drinks and a photo booth to better capture the night.
“Students should expect to have a classy night of fun and dancing,” Anthony said. “It’s going to be a ton of fun, so get ready for a night to remember.”
Homecoming tickets are now available at the SA offices in the Hammer Center Monday thru Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets for singles are $25, and $45 for couples. Payment may be made by cash or credit card.
