Trumpeter Dave Brown to play at inauguration

Dave Brown will perform at the inauguration ceremony, Sept. 20.

The Canadian trumpeter is best known in the gospel community. His performances showcase vibes of contemporary Christian, traditional gospel and gospel jazz styles.

For the past 15 years, Brown has served as National Music Director for the Church of God of Prophecy in eastern Canada and the manager of a community-based youth choir.

He is currently promoting his debut CD, “Instrument of Worship.”

The ceremony will be inaugurating ORU’s fourth president, Dr. William M. Wilson.

It will highlight Wilson’s vision for globalization. Brown will play his trumpet during a flag presentation.

Students are dismissed from their afternoon classes Friday, Sept. 20. The ceremony starts at 1 p.m. in the Mabee Center.
