ORU head coach, Scott Sutton announced freshman guard Chris Crawford has left the basketball team and will transfer to another school.
The report first came via ORU’s radio play-by-play man Geoff Haxton, nearly an hour before Wednesday night’s tip off against Tabor.
Sutton said Crawford wasn’t happy with his role and playing time on the team.
“We felt like it was best for him to move on,” said Sutton in the post-game interview. “We’re disappointed it didn’t work out. Chris is a great young man and great student. All we can do is wish him the best and that he finds a place he can play and be happy.”
Crawford is a Tulsa native and graduate of Victory Christian High School.
He leaves the team after just six games into the season. He averaged eight minutes and 1.6pts in five games.
“It just wasn’t the right timing for me,” Crawford said via text message.
