Golden Eagle women unable to hold off Michigan, fall 61-44

The women’s basketball team was unable to make a second half comeback against the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor Sunday afternoon finishing 61-44.

While the Golden Eagles held the Wolverines to only 61 points, Michigan’s lowest of the season, and shooting 6.7 percent from three-point range, they only shot 32 percent overall compared to Michigan’s 46 percent and were out-rebounded 37-33.

The Wolverines also created 19 points off turnovers and were 10-14 from the stripe compared to 1-for-3 for ORU.

Faith Ihim led the team with 10 points and five rebounds. Jordan Doyle posted nine points, six coming from three-pointers.

The ORU women, now 2-4 in non-conference action, will be back in action Tuesday at Eastern Michigan at 6 p.m. and will be aired on ESPN3.
