Late game heroics earn win for ORU

The Oral Roberts University women’s Soccer team won game two of their three match road trip against University of Nebraska, Omaha on Sunday.  The game ended with a score of 2-1 after double overtime.

Ashley Martin scored the first goal, after being called upon for a penalty kick during the 81st minute. Martin’s goal put her in first place on her team this year with three total goals.

The game-winner was netted by Golden Eagle, Maria Stordahl during the 108th minute. The goal was her second on the year.

The Golden Eagles improved to 3-8-3 overall on the year while remaining at 2-3-0 in conference play.

Helen Erb continued her leadership by tying her season high with eight saves for ORU.

ORU finishes their three-game road-trip on Tuesday against South Dakota in Omaha, Nebraska. This matchup will be a make-up game, originally scheduled for October 10, but postponed due to inclement weather. Game time is scheduled at noon.
