The men’s soccer team won 1-0 in overtime against John Brown University Tuesday.
The home game was an exhibition and an edge-of-your seat thriller that included 26 shots from ORU and 15 shots from JBU. The game had over 800 people in attendance.
ORU’s single goal was scored by Wayne Farmer.
The goal was scored from the close right in the “Golden Goal” 10 minute overtime that resulted in ORU’s win.
“We looked a little bit tired tonight, we came out, I thought we put a lot of pressure on them; I was expecting that. I didn’t think that we really finished our opportunities very well,” said Ryan Bush, men’s soccer head coach.
“I think early on in preseason you always focus and concentrate on the defensive components of the game and right now we are talking tactically about the flat back four, how we defend through the midfield, staying connected just making the gap small.”
Later in the interview the new head coach said he is looking for a championship win this season. The next home game is August 23rd at 7 pm.
