Oracle Male Athlete of the Week
Redshirt senior forward Matthew Rogers is the Oracle’s Male Athlete of the Week.
Rogers was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District first team on Monday. CoSIDA recognizes students for their athletic performance, as well as academic achievement. Rogers was one of 11 athletes chosen for the honor.
Rogers has four goals, one assist and nine points this season for the men’s soccer team. The Golden Eagles will play their final regular season match against Omaha Saturday at the Case Soccer Complex. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
Oracle Female Athlete of the Week
Junior midfielder Lexi Jones is the Oracle ‘s Female Athlete of the Week.
Jones earned Summit League Women’s Offensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 17 and leads the conference in goals with nine this season.
The Oklahoma City native scored an unassisted game-winning goal in the game at Denver on the Oct. 20. It was Jones’ sixth goal in the last three games.
ORU women’s soccer is competing at the Summit League Tournament in Fargo, North Dakota until tomorrow, Nov. 5
Basketball and Baseball set for Saturday matinée
ORU Baseball will be host Game 3 of the Fall World Series Saturday afternoon at J.L. Johnson Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00p.m. The game is open to the public.
Women’s basketball play an exhibition game this Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the Mabee Center against Rogers State.
This will be the team’s only exhibition before opening the regular season on the road next Friday at Iowa. The team’s first regular season home game will be the PSO Mayor’s Cup on November 17.
