The Oklahoma Sooners topped the Golden Eagles by the score of 1-0 on Friday night at John Crain Field in Norman, Oklahoma.
ORU fell to 1-4-3 on the season, while OU snapped a two-match losing streak to improve to 6-3-2.
The Golden Eagles made a late push in the second half but came up short. The Sooners put their goal on the board in the seventh minute. Abby Hodgen slipped passed the defense and took a shot one-on-one that was knocked down by Maddie Rhodes. However, Chelsea Jackson was there for the follow and an open net goal.
The Golden Eagles had chances in the second half, including a Megan Giles strike that was pulled in by OU goalkeeper Kassadie Stade near the left post with less than a minute remaining.
The Sooners now lead the all-time series against the Golden Eagles, 12-3.
Up next for ORU will be conference favorite, Denver. The Golden Eagles will kickoff against the Pioneers next Friday at 8 p.m. CST.
