The Golden Eagles Women’s Soccer team had a tough loss on Saturday as they faced OSU in a preseason exhibition game. The stadium filled out as over 1,300 people showed for the event and the seating bled into the green and side corners.

ORU gained the lead in the first minutes of the second half as Kayla Keller laid a cross in to Jordan Parsons who slipped the ball into the back corner. As things began to heat up several fouls were committed and a yellow card was awarded to Krissi Killion of OSU. The Cowgirls came back to win 2-1 with Allie Stephenson scoring both goals, including one from a corner kick standing just outside the box.

“I’m happy with our effort,” said first year ORU coach Roger Bush after the game, “I thought the kids played with a good attitude. We asked them to come out and press and they did that.”

Coach Bush also said that to be successful they need to be together. “That’s going to be the key for the next two and a half months with our group.”

Roger Bush will be looking for a win in the next game when the season officially begins on the road against Missouri State this Friday.
