Thrifting in Tulsa

Good news in the shopping world awaits frugal shoppers. To the relief of clearance lovers nationwide, thrifting isn’t just for rappers anymore. In fact, wearing “yo’ granddad’s clothes” is now a style trend instead of a fashion faux pas, and Tulsa has plenty of places to go so you can find an outfit that fits your style without breaking the bank.

Value Thrift Tulsa
The most popular thrift store in Tulsa is Value Thrift Tulsa. This consignment store, located at 1112 S. Memorial, carries more than just clothes and offers a wife selection of books, furniture and more.

Quality Thrift
This store has a multitude of items that you could spend hours sifting through. Located just a few miles away from campus at 5133 S. Peoria Ave., it is perfect for students who don’t want to drive a long distance for a good find.

Second Chance Consignment
This independently owned consignment store sits in the small, sleepy community Sand Springs outside of Tulsa. Like the town it’s located in, this store is tiny, but has a large selection of clothes, shoes, formal dresses and accessories. The address of the store is 101 W. 41st St., and though it may be a longer drive, it’s worth a visit.

Community Thrift Store
Community Thrift Store has a large selection of clothes, but also carries TV’s and other electronics. Located at 6921 E. Admiral Pl., this store carries cheap, name-brand items, and always offers a discount to military veterans.

Animal Aid Thrift Store
If you’re in search of a thrift store that is associated with charity work, take a trip over to Animal Aid Thrift Store at 3307 E. 15th St. (15th & Harvard). The proceeds from purchases help rescued shelter animals find new homes.

Goodwill Stores
A reliable favorite for cheap finds is always the Goodwill stores. There are three of them in Tulsa. The Goodwill at 2800 Southwest Boulevard is the Tulsa area’s largest with an enormous book section and too many racks of clothes to sort through in one afternoon. With this big of a selection, you’re sure to find something to take home, and Goodwill is known for being the
cheapest of all thrift stores. There are four smaller Goodwills, but depending on location, they may present students with a
bit of a drive.
§ Northeast Tulsa: 102 S. Garnett Rd.
§ Owasso’s Goodwill: 8525 N. 117th East Ave.
§ Sapulpa: 502 W. 125th Pl.
§ Broken Arrow: 2210 W. Washington St.

Salvation Army Stores
A close relative to Goodwill stores is the Salvation Army stores. With the same concept as Goodwill, Salvation Army stores have a great selection at wonderfully low prices. There is one located in Broken Arrow at 4700 W. Kenosha St.
